Chelsie Xavier-Blower
Meet Chelsie Xavier-Blower @chelsie_x_b
Chelsie is an assistant camera and an environmental and adventure filmmaker based in Vancouver, BC. Having spent most of her childhood and adult years moving and traveling to places ranging from Portugal to Thailand and more, getting thrown into the deep end comes natural to her. Chelsie is most inspired by stories of the earth and how people are intricately connected to it. For the past year she has been working as an assistant camera (and recently an assistant gear manager) for River Road Films and their upcoming international TV series for CBC “Shared Planet”. She has ventured to the depths of the Brazilian Amazon River, the open planes of Brazil’s cerrado, and the Pantanal.
Chelsie has also previously worked for Paul Nicklen and Cristina Mittermeier and their ocean conservation non-profit SeaLegacy and their senior video editor and field assistant.

Top Tip:
You have your own unique timeline so staaahp comparing it with others in this industry! It’s easy to get caught up in the seemingly unspoken race there apparently is, to get somewhere in one’s career where no one actually knows where the finish line is. Enjoy your own journey (as cheesy as that sounds) and take time for yourself and other areas of your life as you go through it!
