Romi Castagnino
Meet Romi Castagnino @romicastagnino.wild
Romi is a filmmaker, video journalist, and conservation biologist based in Peru. She is happiest when out in the wilderness in rainforests or shooting at 14,000 feet up in the Andes Mountains. She has worked primarily on creating short-form digital content for the environmental news site Mongabay focusing on conservation storytelling in South America and Africa. She is the producer, host, and often camerawoman of the investigative series Chasing Deforestation which exposes the most threatened protected forests in the world using satellite imagery and reporters on the ground.
Besides working for Mongabay, Romi is working on an independent impact film shedding light on the illicit online wildlife trade in Peru. And she hopes to further her commitment to impact production by taking on more projects as a freelancer.
