Meet Pooja Rathod @pooja__rathod

Pooja is a National Geographic Explorer, marine biologist turned wildlife cinematographer from India. She specialises in long lens sequence building, aerial and underwater filming. Although most of her work is on land, she is passionate about the ocean and runs an initiative called ‘Know Your Fish’ which promotes ocean education and sustainable seafood consumption in India.

Having an athletic background she looks forward to and enjoys shoots that are both physically and mentally challenging.

Her story won the ‘Wild Pitch’ award at Wildscreen 2022. With the reward she will begin works on her new film on elephants in India.
